How To Connect ThriveCart


SegMetrics gives you the ability to analyze your marketing campaign performance by connecting ThriveCart with other data sources.

ThriveCart Integration Overview

ThriveCart's sales data flows seamlessly into SegMetrics, allowing for long-term ROI tracking from paid ads and long-term attribution to purchase.

The integration enables advanced segmentation and automations based on checkout behavior.

SegMetrics takes the spend from your ad platforms and purchases from ThriveCart then connects them to the email addresses in your CRM.

You don't need to import the orders or tag people in a special way: they just need to be in ThriveCart and CRM!

Important note. If a customer email is different in ThriveCart that what’s in your CRM their purchase/revenue will not be displayed within SegMetrics


Connecting ThriveCart  to SegMetrics

1) Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and then click "Integrations"

2) Once you're on the Integrations page, you can find the ThriveCart  integration one of three ways. Select the Payments processing list and find it there, search ThriveCart in the search bar, or scroll down through all the integrations (they’re listed in alphabetical order) and click the ThriveCart integration

3) This will open the connection window. Name your ThriveCart integration then follow the prompts to add your ThriveCart API Key

3) Then click the blue “Connect ThriveCart” button at the bottom

4) This will open the Activation window, which is where you will be prompted to connect through OAuth to SegMetrics.


How to Connect Payment Information to CRM Contacts

There is nothing left to do: SegMetrics will match the email addresses in ThriveCart  with those in your CRM and connect the payment data automatically.

But, if you have more than one payment processor, we recommend using whichever can act as the single source of truth.


What if my SegMetrics and ThriveCart data look different?

The ThriveCart data in SegMetrics is coming from the API connection. However, there are some differences you may see. For example, if someone has a paused subscription in ThriveCart, they will not show as an active subscription. In this scenario the client would be considered active in SegMetrics because In SegMetrics a subscription is either cancelled or active.

Another example where the data would look different would be if a client had multiple subscriptions and only one of those subscriptions were cancelled. ThriveCart would consider all subscriptions and that client as cancelled. SegMetrics would still include this client as active and only show a cancellation for the specific subscription that was cancelled.

In almost every other case if the numbers look different, the data will be the same but the view may not be. When comparing a SegMetrics report and a ThriveCart report you may not be looking at equal views. Please carefully look at the default filters in what Segmetrics report you are looking at. These filters are most likely not the same in ThriveCart and are most likely producing different results. 


How much historical data is synced when you first connect ThriveCart  to SegMetrics?

When you connect a new ThriveCart data source, all historical data from your ThriveCart account is synced.

Pro Tip: Once ThriveCart is connected and actively syncing data, we store the data that's collected in our own database. This allows us to accumulate more data over time as more data syncs are made so that you can report on more historical ThriveCart  data in your SegMetrics reports.


How to Build a Report using ThriveCart  Data

Once your data is imported from ThriveCart, you can create reports with the data to see how each touchpoint influences your sales.

1) Go to conversions on the left navigation bar. Then click Orders.


2) Select your desired filters based on dates, tags and touchpoints 

3) Save it for later use or to use the data in a custom dashboard

Q: What time zone is ThriveCart data synced in?

A: ThriveCart data is synced in UTC. SegMetrics reports on your data based in the timezone that you set in your Account Settings.

Q: Do I need the tracking pixel to get the data found in my ThriveCart account?

A: You do not need to create a Tracking Link or add our tracking pixel for SegMetrics to track website purchases.

Q: If no pixel is needed how does SegMetrics show accurate revenue?

A: SegMetrics uses its API connection with ThriveCart to pull in invoices. Within those invoices are emails that we connect and overlap with the emails we pull in from your CRM. This allows us to attribute every dollar to a person and product
