Understanding the ClickFunnels Integration

SegMetrics works with ClickFunnels in two ways:

Tracking Pixel (Required): Install the SegMetrics pixel on your ClickFunnels pages to track visitor behavior, page views, and funnel progression. This is essential for attribution and connecting web activity to contacts in your CRM.

CRM/Revenue Connection (Optional): If you use ClickFunnels to manage contacts or process payments, you can connect it as your CRM or revenue source in SegMetrics. This allows you to sync contact data and purchase information directly from ClickFunnels.

Benefits of Full Integration

When you combine tracking pixel installation with CRM/revenue connection, you gain:

Lifetime Revenue Analytics: Measure how your landing pages impact total revenue, not just short-term metrics.

Customer Segment Performance: Filter performance based on tags, source, purchases, and more to identify profitable cohorts.

Source Performance Comparison: See how different ads, affiliates, or marketing content affects conversions in later funnel steps.

Complete Attribution: SegMetrics connects contact data from ClickFunnels with web tracking to provide end-to-end attribution from first click to purchase.

Installing Tracking on Your Pages (Required)

This step is required for SegMetrics to track your ClickFunnels traffic and attribute it to your marketing sources.

Get Your Tracking Code

  1. In SegMetrics, go to your Site Setup page from the gear menu
  2. Copy your SegMetrics tracking pixel code

Option 1: Global Site-Wide Tracking (Recommended)

For comprehensive tracking across all ClickFunnels pages, funnels, and your store:

  1. Log in to your ClickFunnels workspace
  2. Navigate to Site & Blog app from the left-hand menu
  3. Click the three-dot menu next to your site name
  4. Select Site Settings
  5. Scroll to the Tracking Codes section
  6. Paste your SegMetrics code in the Header Code section
  7. Click Update Site

Option 2: Individual Funnel Tracking

To track specific funnels only:

  1. Navigate to Funnels in your ClickFunnels dashboard
  2. Select the funnel you want to track
  3. Click Settings within your funnel
  4. Locate the Head Tracking Code section
  5. Paste your SegMetrics pixel in the Head Tracking Code
  6. Click Save And Update Settings

Important: Always place your SegMetrics code in the Header Code (or Head Tracking Code) section. If using other tracking pixels, place SegMetrics at the very top or bottom of the code box to avoid conflicts.

Using ClickFunnels WordPress Plugin

If you use the ClickFunnels Plugin for WordPress, install the tracking pixel in both WordPress and ClickFunnels to ensure complete tracking coverage across all funnel touchpoints.

Connecting ClickFunnels as Your CRM (Optional)

Only complete this step if you use ClickFunnels to manage your contacts or process payments. If you use a different CRM (like ActiveCampaign, Keap, or HubSpot) or payment processor (like Stripe or PayPal), connect those instead.

Step 1: Access Integration Settings

  1. Log in to your SegMetrics account
  2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon in the top menu)
  3. Select Integrations from the settings menu
  4. Locate ClickFunnels in the available integrations list

Step 2: Connect Your Account

  1. Click Connect next to the ClickFunnels integration
  2. You'll be redirected to authorize SegMetrics access to your ClickFunnels account
  3. Enter your ClickFunnels login credentials when prompted
  4. Click Authorize to grant SegMetrics permission
  5. You'll be redirected back to SegMetrics with a confirmation

Step 3: Verify the Connection

  1. Return to your SegMetrics integrations page
  2. Confirm that ClickFunnels appears as Connected with a green status indicator

Once connected, SegMetrics automatically synchronizes contact information, funnel activity, purchase data, and tags from ClickFunnels. Data typically syncs within 15-30 minutes, with historical data taking several hours on first connection.

Testing Your Setup

After implementing tracking, verify it's working correctly:

  1. Visit your published pages in a private/incognito browser window
  2. Check your SegMetrics dashboard for incoming data
  3. Use browser developer tools to verify the tracking script loads:
    • Press F12 to open developer tools
    • Go to the Console tab
    • Look for SegMetrics tracking pixel notification

Allow 24-48 hours for data to populate in your SegMetrics dashboard, as some analytics may have processing delays.

FAQs

Q: Should I use global site-wide or funnel-specific tracking?

A: Global site-wide tracking is recommended for comprehensive coverage. Use funnel-specific tracking only when you need tracking on certain funnels. Avoid duplicating the same tracking code, as this causes data inconsistencies.

Q: Can I track ClickFunnels funnels with third-party payment processors?

A: Yes. SegMetrics tracks funnels regardless of payment processor. For complete revenue attribution, also connect your payment processor (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) to SegMetrics, or ensure purchase data flows through ClickFunnels contacts.

Q: Do I need to connect ClickFunnels as my CRM if I already use another CRM?

A: No. Only connect ClickFunnels as your CRM if you use it to manage contacts. If you use a different CRM (ActiveCampaign, Keap, HubSpot, etc.), connect that instead. However, you must still install the SegMetrics tracking pixel on your ClickFunnels pages to track visitor behavior and funnel performance.

Q: Will the tracking code affect my page loading speed?

A: SegMetrics tracking codes load asynchronously and have minimal impact on page speed. The pixel is lightweight and optimized for performance.

Q: How does SegMetrics handle ClickFunnels affiliate tracking?

A: SegMetrics tracks affiliate-generated leads by connecting affiliate attribution data with purchase information. This shows lifetime value and performance of different affiliate partners, not just immediate conversions.

Hey! So you're using ClickFunnels to build out your sales funnels—that's awesome, you're in good company. ClickFunnels is hands-down one of the best funnel builders out there. But here's a question for you: are you getting the absolute most out of all that funnel data? Like, can you see exactly where people are dropping off, or which traffic sources are bringing in your most valuable customers? If you want to take your ClickFunnels game to the next level, stick around. Today I'm going to show you how connecting ClickFunnels to SegMetrics turns good data into incredibly powerful, actionable insights.

ClickFunnels is seriously one of the best tools out there for building high-converting sales funnels. Whether you're capturing leads, selling products, or running webinar funnels, ClickFunnels makes it ridiculously easy to get pages up and running fast. Russell Brunson and the team have built something really special—it's why so many successful marketers and entrepreneurs rely on it every single day.

And ClickFunnels gives you solid data too—opt-in rates, sales numbers, funnel stats. It's all there and it's helpful for sure.

But here's the thing—when you pair ClickFunnels with SegMetrics, that's when your data becomes truly powerful. Suddenly you're not just seeing what's happening inside your funnels, you're seeing the complete customer journey. Which traffic source brought someone in? How long did it take them to buy? What's their lifetime value? How do different segments perform across your entire marketing ecosystem?

That's the level of insight that lets you scale confidently. ClickFunnels builds incredible funnels, and SegMetrics shows you exactly how to optimize them for maximum profit. It's a perfect partnership.

Alright, let me show you how powerful this combination really is.

Connecting ClickFunnels to SegMetrics takes about two minutes. Just head to your Integrations page, find ClickFunnels, click to connect, and authorize. Done. SegMetrics automatically starts pulling in all your contacts, tags, purchases, funnel activity—everything syncs seamlessly.

Now here's where things get really exciting. SegMetrics takes all that great ClickFunnels data and supercharges it with deep, full-funnel analytics. You can see exactly which marketing channels are driving your most profitable leads through your ClickFunnels, not just the most traffic, but the highest-value customers.

Whether you're trying to scale your list, boost conversion rates, eliminate bottlenecks, or maximize revenue, this combination gives you crystal-clear answers about where to focus your efforts.

Let me show you some game-changing ways to use this.

First, let's see where your funnel traffic is really coming from. Jump over to the Acquisition Report and you can see which marketing channels are feeding people into your ClickFunnels—paid ads, organic, social, referrals, all of it. But here's what makes this so powerful—SegMetrics doesn't just count visitors, it shows you which channels bring in customers who actually buy and stick around. That's the data that matters.

Now let's use SegMetrics' segmentation power. You can slice your ClickFunnels data any way you want—by tags, funnel steps, product purchases, whatever you're tracking. Want to compare how your webinar funnel performs against your tripwire funnel? Just filter by those and you've got a side-by-side comparison instantly.

Here's where it gets really cool—visualizing your complete funnel flow. Build custom funnel reports that show you exactly where people are moving forward and where they're bailing out. Let's say you've got a standard funnel: landing page → opt-in → thank you → sales page → checkout. SegMetrics shows you the precise conversion rates at every single stage. Maybe your landing page is crushing it but your sales page needs work—now you know exactly where to focus your optimization energy instead of just guessing.

You can also trace ClickFunnels revenue all the way back to specific ads, emails, or traffic sources. See which campaigns are actually driving people through your funnels and generating real sales, not just clicks and opt-ins.

And here's a feature you'll love—flexible attribution models. Switch to first-touch to see what starts someone's journey into your funnel, or flip to last-touch to see what closes the deal. You can even use multi-touch attribution to see every interaction that mattered. It's all right there whenever you need it.

ClickFunnels builds incredible funnels—that's what it does best. SegMetrics shows you exactly how to make those funnels even more profitable. Together, you've got an unbeatable combo for scaling your business. No more guessing about what's working. You'll have clear, actionable data showing you exactly where to optimize, where to invest more, and where to cut your losses. That's how you turn great funnels into revenue-generating machines.
