HubSpot

SegMetrics integrates with HubSpot to analyze your campaign performance and connect it with other data sources. This integration enables you to segment lead data, identify automation triggers that convert to customers, and understand where your most valuable leads originate.

Integration Overview

SegMetrics connects spend from your ad platforms and purchases from your payment processors to email addresses in HubSpot. The integration automatically matches data without requiring manual imports or special tagging—contacts simply need to exist in your HubSpot account.

Payment Information Connection

HubSpot Payment Integrations

If you're using HubSpot's built-in payment integrations, no additional setup is required—payment data integrates automatically with SegMetrics.

External Payment Processors

If you don't have a payment integration with HubSpot, you can connect your payment processor directly to SegMetrics. We recommend using whichever payment processor can serve as your single source of truth for the most accurate revenue attribution.

HubSpot Deals as Revenue

You can also enable "Deals as Revenue" in your SegMetrics Account Settings to track HubSpot deal values as revenue data.

Important: Do not use both HubSpot's internal payment integrations AND deals as revenue simultaneously, as this will cause orders and revenue to double up in your reports. Choose one revenue source to maintain accurate tracking.

Subscription Tracking

SegMetrics automatically recognizes HubSpot line items as recurring subscriptions when they include:

  • A recurringbillingfrequency  field
  • An hs_recurring_billing_start_date  field

If recurring items aren't displaying in SegMetrics, verify that both the start date and frequency are properly set in HubSpot.

Historical Data Sync

When you first connect HubSpot to SegMetrics, all historical data from your HubSpot account syncs automatically.

Pro Tip: Once connected and actively syncing, SegMetrics stores the collected data in its own database. This allows accumulation of more data over time as additional syncs occur, enabling comprehensive historical reporting in SegMetrics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What time zone is HubSpot data synced in?

A: HubSpot data syncs in UTC. SegMetrics reports display your data based on the timezone you set in your Account Settings.

Q: How can I set up email links to get click rates from my HubSpot emails?

A: Add the Contact ID to your links using this format: seg_cid={{contact.hs_object_id}} . Your complete link should look like: http://example.com/?seg_cid={{contact.hs_object_id}} . This tells SegMetrics who is visiting the page, even from different devices.

Q: Do I need a tracking links to get data from my HubSpot account?

A: No, you don't need to create Tracking Links for SegMetrics to track website visitors—it will still gather UTM data. However, Tracking Links provide detailed information about specific link clicks for ads, email broadcasts, or campaigns.

Q: How do I create reports on client invoices and cart sales from HubSpot?

A: SegMetrics uses the e-commerce data from HubSpot's integrations. For invoice-based client reporting, consider using funnel reports to track each step in the client process (sales call, signup, invoice, payments, etc.).

Q: What permissions do I need in HubSpot to set up this integration?

A: You need full admin permissions to your HubSpot account to successfully connect and authorize the integration with SegMetrics.
