Integration Overview

SamCart's sales data flows seamlessly into SegMetrics, allowing for long-term ROI tracking from paid ads and long-term attribution to purchase.

The integration enables advanced segmentation and automations based on checkout behavior.

SegMetrics takes the spend from your ad platforms and purchases from SamCart then connects them to the email addresses in your CRM.

Important note. If a customer email is different in SamCart that what’s in your CRM their purchase/revenue will not be displayed within SegMetrics


Connecting SamCart to SegMetrics

1) Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and then click "Integrations"

2) Once you're on the Integrations page, you can find the SamCart integration one of three ways. Select the Payments processing list and find it there, search SamCart in the search bar, or scroll down through all the integrations (they’re listed in alphabetical order) and click the SamCart integration

3) This will open the connection window. Name your SamCart integration, enter your SamCart Store Domain then click the blue Connect SamCart button.

4) This will open the Activation window, which is where you will be prompted to connect through OAuth to SegMetrics. SamCart does not allow an API connection. SegMetrics has to use a webhook to connect. The steps below will appear on your screen. Follow each one including installing the tracking pixel in step



5) Place the SegMetrics tracking pixel on your SamCart pages. Click settings and choose general. Scroll down until you see "Embed HTML/Scripts in Header". Paste your SegMetrics tracking pixel in the box to the right. Your tracking is now setup for SamCart!



How to Connect Payment Information to CRM Contacts

Moving forward SegMetrics will match the email addresses sent from SamCart’s invoices with those in your CRM and connect the payment data automatically.


How much historical data is synced when you first connect SamCart to SegMetrics?

Since SamCart is set up via webhooks, no historical data will be imported. If you wish to bring in your historical revenue and conversions you will have to upload historical payments using the SamCart integration. via a csv file you can pull from your SamCart orders report.

In SegMetrics, go to your integrations, click on the three dots next to your SamCart integration. Select Upload Historical Data. Select whichever type of data you want to import (orders or subscriptions), then just upload the unmodified SamCart csv file. Give it about an hour and as long as the contact exists in SegMetrics you'll see all your uploaded historical data!



How to build a Report using SamCart data

Once your data is imported from SamCart you can create reports with the data to see how each touchpoint influences your sales.

1) Go to conversions on the left navigation bar. Then click Orders.

2) Select your desired filters based on dates, tags and touchpoints 

3) Save it for later use or to use the data in a custom dashboard

Q: What time zone is SamCart data synced in?

A: SamCart data is synced in UTC. SegMetrics reports on your data based in the timezone that you set in your Account Settings.

Q: Do I need the tracking pixel to get conversion data in SegMetrics?

A: The conversions sent to SegMetrics are through the webhook. The tracking pixel you installed at setup is strictly to attribute the conversions. All of SegMetrics conversions are based on invoices sent through the webhook which means SegMetrics cannot over-report conversions.
